| John drank some alkali water and died. He was buried between two sand hills on the South Fork of the Platte River. At Fort Hall, the two sisters seperated with Rachel going on to Vancouver Island, Washington. Rachel remarried to a Henry Goldbeck at Vancouver Island children, and they had four Mary Strauss was from her first marriage, Mary married Ezra Hamilton, then from the second marriage were John Goldbeck, Charllotte Goldbeck, Henrietta Goldbeck and Augusta Goldbeck. |
